Hmmm. I thought think I would have given 2 tries, then called a sitter if at all possible and gone without him. Giving your child a voice and sense of Autonomy doesn’t mean you have to lose yours. If he was playing you and just looking for your reaction, next time the problem would be solved. If he really didn’t want to go and was forced, most likely the visit would have been doomed anyway.
